The Challenge
When I took this on, the site had accumulated real technical debt — broken links, corrupted schema markup, missing image alt text and H1 tags, broken redirects, and inconsistent SEO metadata. On top of that, a backlog of low-quality AI-generated content also needed cleanup.
What I Did
Phase 1 · Technical SEO
- Fixed broken links and redirect chains sitewide
- Diagnosed and fixed a schema markup bug corrupting page structure, and rebuilt video schema
- Added missing H1 tags and image alt text sitewide
- Bulk-corrected SEO metadata sitewide
Phase 2 · Content & Growth
- Audited and removed low-quality AI-generated content; built a content approval workflow
- Built and launched a new Construction Litigation practice area page
- Redesigned the blog layout sitewide for readability
- Built a videos/podcasts page: filterable grid, lightbox player, structured data for 45 videos
Phase 3 · Security
- Conducted a security audit that surfaced and resolved a client email vulnerability
Results
As a result of this work, the numbers improved significantly year over year:
Meanwhile, the new Construction Litigation page is still in early ramp-up — 664 impressions and climbing in its first months live, tracked from day one.
